Bioinformatics and Genomic Data Analysis (BGDA) - Course
Constantine1About This Course
This course introduces the fundamental concepts and practical approaches of bioinformatics and genomic data analysis, with a focus on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and its applications in molecular diagnosis of human diseases. Students will explore key steps of the NGS workflow, including quality control, sequence alignment, variant detection, and functional annotation, with emphasis on precision medicine.Requirements
Students are recommended to have varying levels of proficiency in the following areas, listed in order of priority:
- Molecular biology and basic bioinformatics concepts (Priority 1)
- Computer systems, particularly the Linux environment (Priority 2)
- Molecular genetics (Priority 3)
- Biochemistry (Priority 4)
